2025.06.18

Synnex Group has established 26 self-built logistics centers across the Asia-Pacific, showcasing its strong business expansion and intelligent logistics capabilities. The 27th self-built logistics center is scheduled to open in Hanoi, Vietnam, in the second half of 2025.

Synnex Group has officially launched its self-built 26th logistics center in the Asia-Pacific region—a state-of-the-art automated facility in Melbourne, Australia. Representing a total investment of USD 100 million, the new center spans 44,000 square meters and offers 22,000 pallet storage capacity. Combined with the existing Sydney logistics center, which offers a storage capacity of 18,000 pallets, the Melbourne facility significantly enhances Synnex Australia’s operational scale. It underpins annual revenues exceeding USD 2 billion and provide critical momentum for continued business growth across the region.

As a leading ICT and semiconductor distributor in the Asia-Pacific, Synnex has championed a core strategy built on multi-product, multi-channel, and multi-market development. Recognising early that logistics capability would be a key competitive differentiator in the distribution industry, the company began building a comprehensive regional logistics network as early as 1992. Through sustained investment in proprietary IT systems, automation , intelligent data platforms, and regional integration, Synnex has developed one of the most advanced and efficient supply chain ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific. In 2016, Synnex spun off its logistics operations into a dedicated entity—Synergy Intelligent Logistics Corporation—to oversee its logistics operations across the Asia-Pacific region.

The planning and construction of the new Melbourne headquarters and logistics center began in 2020, with a total investment of USD 100 million. As the scheduled completion in Q2 2025 neared, a joint task force comprising of Synnex Group headquarters, Synergy Intelligent Logistics, and the Australian team initiated a detailed relocation plan. Due to Australia's stringent construction safety regulations, the team had no physical access to the site prior to completion. Instead, they relied entirely on 3D simulation models, real-time monitoring, and Synnex's MIS system to meticulously storyboard each phase of the operation, ensuring both precision and efficiency.

In a highly coordinated effort, the relocation was executed over the four-day Easter holiday, involving the transfer of over 600 containers and 7,200 pallets. An uninterrupted operation returned to full operations on the first business day following the holiday, an achievement widely recognised as setting a new benchmark in Australia's logistics sector. This accomplishment received high praise from partners. A Japanese automation provider remarked, “We have never seen a relocation of this scale completed in such a short timeframe. The execution was exceptional.” An Australian equipment supplier added, “This was the boldest, most fearless project we've seen in the local logistics industry”

Alex Lin, General Manager of Synergy Intelligent Logistics, described the move as, “meticulous yet tough—a true test of our capabilities from end to end”. He emphasised that success was driven by seamless collaboration between headquarters and the local team, enabled by Synnex's advanced digital systems and real-time coordination.

Founded in 1988, Synnex Group has established 26 logistics centers worldwide, including self- built logistics centers in Taipei and Taichung, supporting annual revenues of USD 14.26 billion. With strategic investments in Thailand, Vietnam, and India's largest distributor—Redington(covering India, the Middle East, and Africa), Synnex's total channel revenue reached USD 28.74 billion in 2024. With over 80% of revenue now generated from overseas markets, Synnex has firmly established itself as a formidable global distribution powerhouse.

Launched in Q2 2025, Synnex's new self-built Melbourne logistics center, combined with the Sydney logistics center, supports over USD 2 billion in annual business volume.

Synnex's new Melbourne logistics center was recently launched with a total investment of USD 100 million. This highly automated intelligent warehouse and logistics facility set a remarkable precedent by completing relocation and equipment testing during a four-day holiday, seamlessly resuming operations immediately the following day.
